Massage Therapy

Massage therapy is a hands on treatment of soft tissues of the body such as muscles, connective tissues, tendons, ligaments and joints. It can be a form of treatment for acute and chronic conditions and for relaxation.


Physiotherapy

Physiotherapists have a range of skills in assessing and treating orthopaedic and musculoskeletal conditions and injuries as they are experts in understanding how the body moves.

Kim Gair has been a practicing Massage Therapist in a variety of settings with a wide rage of clients with many health needs since 1994. Her experience and passion for helping patients fulfill their health and wellness needs is what makes Kim a significant asset to the ATP Clinic team. Kim’s goals are to provide relief from stress, pain, injury, postural tension, chronic repetitive strain and physical changes during and after pregnancy . In addition to hands-on massage therapy treatment, Kim teaches her patients about effective self-care that helps improve their well being and helps move them towards their ultimate health goals. In her spare time she enjoys hiking and biking the trains and green-spaces, volunteering at the local organic farm and writing poetry. Kim maintains a good standing with the Registered Massage Therapist Association of Ontario.

(OWNER) (Physiotherapy Resident) Hiba Mahdi graduated from the University of Guelph majoring in Human Kinetics with a minor in nutrition. She went on to complete her Doctor of Physiotherapy degree at Macquarie University, located in Sydney, Australia. Hiba is a fully registered Physiotherapist.

In addition to her education, Hiba has extensive experience in physiotherapy. She received her sports trainer level 1 certification and had the privilege of working alongside a rugby team in Sydney during their 2018 season. Hiba was responsible for pre-game preparation of players, assessment of injuries and rehabilitation of injuries. She has also participated in an international placement in the United Kingdom at St. George’s Hospital. As one of London’s largest hospitals, Hiba gained valuable experience in working with individuals who suffered from chronic conditions as well as post-op surgery patients who were recovering from ACL reconstruction.

Hiba has a great interest in various forms of research and plans on integrating evidence based practice into her career. She has conducted research that analyzed the feasibility and relationship between direction of force and signs of concussion in professional National Rugby League players using video analysis.

As someone who is very active and grew up playing sports, Hiba understands the importance of improving technique and preventing injuries. She is passionate about working with patients to achieve their goals through education, self management, manual therapy, exercise prescription and training modifications.

PHYSIOTHERAPIST CERTIFIED ACUPUNCTURE, DRY NEEDLING, MYOFASCIAL RELEASE & SPINAL MANIPULATION PROVIDER. REGISTERED PELVIC HEALTH PROVIDER.

Crystal is a registered physiotherapist with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario. She brings energy, experience, and evidence-based practice to the ATP Clinic.

Crystal graduated from the University of Saskatchewan with a Bachelors in Physiotherapy in 2005 and from the University of British Columbia with a Masters in Rehabilitation Science in 2016. She is certified in acupuncture through the Acupuncture Foundation of Canada; certified in GTT – dry needling through the Gokavi Institute, and certificated to practice spinal manipulation through the SWODEAM Institute. Additionally, she has taken many advanced courses in orthopaedics, pelvic health, diagnostic imaging, myofascial release, pain management, movement impairment syndromes, and corrective kinesiotaping.

Throughout her career, she has worked in public and private practice and has worked extensively with sports injuries, work injuries, repetitive strains and motor vehicle accidents in acute and tertiary settings. She has enjoyed working with sporting events such as the NORCECA (North/Central America And Caribbean) International Beach Volleyball Competitions as well as local and regional level golf, soccer, and swimming matches/tournaments.

Outside of work as a physiotherapist in Burlington, Crystal enjoys renovation projects, hiking and travelling.
